Backflow Prevention Report Required Every March
Ratepayers have a Legal Requirement for Backflow Prevention and Annual Inspection Reporting
Applies to : All ratepayers who have an irrigation system, fire suppression, in floor water heating system, hot tubs, swimming pool OR any other device which presents the potential for cross contamination of the public water supply,
Requirements;
Cross Connection Control Program Ordinance (Backflow Prevention) - November 20111) Must have a backflow prevention assembly installed
2) The backflow prevention assembly must be tested at least annually, at the rate payer's expense, by a certified backflow assembly tester and the testing report filed with the District by March 31, so that the Water District can file its annual backflow report with the Oregon Health Authority's drinking water section in response to OAR 333-061-0070.
3) The backflow prevention assemblies shall be maintained, tested and repaired, at the rate payer's expense, in accordance with the requirements set out in this Ordinance and all applicable State agency regulations.
4) In the event an assembly is not properly tested and repaired, the Arch Cape Water District will have the assembly tested and repaired and apply all costs associated with this to the water bill of the assembly owner or person responsible for the water bill for the premises.
